Application Deadlines
- Primary Application Deadline: Applications must be verified by AACOMAS and received by MSOM by April 11, 2025 at 11:59 p.m., EST.
- Secondary Application Deadline: The Secondary Application must be submitted to MSOM by May 29, 2025 at 11:50 p.m., EST. Students are encouraged to submit their Secondary Application within two weeks of receiving the Secondary Application.
Admissions Requirements
- Applicants must have completed a Bachelor of Arts or Science from a U.S. college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education recognized national institutional accreditation agency by the end of June 2025.
- Applicants must have a competitive grade point average (GPA)
- Applicants must have successfully completed all of the following with a C or better prior to May 2025:
(a) English, Biology/Zoology (with laboratory), Inorganic/General Chemistry (with laboratory), Physics (with laboratory), Organic Chemistry (with laboratory)
(b) All applicants must complete all science prerequisite requirements within ten (10) years prior to matriculation at MSOM.
- MSOM recommends the following elective courses:
- Anatomy*, Behavioral Science, Biochemistry*, Genetics, Immunology, Microbiology*, Molecular Biology, Multicultural Studies, Physiology*, Public Health/Epidemiology.
(a) *Completion of courses in Anatomy, Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Physiology is highly preferred.
- Applicants are required to submit scores from the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT). For the 2024-2025 application cycle, MCAT scores from exams taken on or after January 1, 2021 will be accepted.
(a) MCAT scores with all four subsections at or above the 25th percentile.
(b) MCAT scores are required and will not be waived. Applications will not be reviewed without official MCAT scores.
- Applicants must submit two letters of recommendation.
(a) Preferably an osteopathic physician (D.O.) or an allopathic physician (M.D.)
(b) Premedical advisory committee or science faculty member with a terminal degree in a relevant science discipline at the institution where the applicant received their bachelor’s degree that is familiar with the academic work of the applicant.
- Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent U.S. Resident, or DACA.
(a) MSOM cannot guarantee the licensure of DACA students by state licensing boards. MSOM encourages all applicants with DACA status to contact the state where they plan to practice to determine their eligibility for a license issued by that agency.
(b) MSOM does not accept applications from students requiring F-1 student visa status until approval is granted by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). MSOM is currently not seeking approval to accept international students.
(c) Transcripts from institutions outside the U.S. or Canada must be evaluated for U.S. equivalence by a recognized credential evaluation service. This ensures that the coursework is comparable to that taken at accredited U.S. institutions. Applicants must request that an official evaluation report be sent directly from the evaluation service to AACOMAS. Additional instructions are available in the AACOMAS Help Center. MSOM does not accept unofficial copies or evaluations sent by applicants themselves. The evaluation report should include a detailed, course-by-course analysis, specifying the academic level (undergraduate, graduate, professional), semester hours, and grades.
Required Secondary Application
- Applicants invited to submit a secondary application will receive an email notification containing information and instructions on how to complete the secondary application. This email will also include instructions on how to submit the application fee. MSOM will waive the secondary application fee if the applicant has an approved AACOMAS fee waiver document.
- The following supplemental materials are required as part of the secondary application process for MSOM:
- A completed MSOM secondary application, which includes three required short answer questions and a $100 non-refundable fee (waived for applicants who qualify for the AACOMAS Fee Waiver).
