Welcome to Meritus Commons
At Meritus Commons, we are creating a vibrant living environment tailored specifically for the students of the Meritus School of Osteopathic Medicine (MSOM). As part of Meritus Health’s commitment to excellence in healthcare education, this new housing development is designed to provide a supportive and enriching community for our future medical students.
Slated to open alongside our new MSOM facilities in 2025, Meritus Commons will feature a modern, 364-unit residential complex, conveniently located adjacent to our Hagerstown campus.
The development is just a quarter-mile walk from Bowman Hall and includes four buildings offering both one and two-bedroom apartments. Students will enjoy a range of amenities, including a central public green space and plaza ideal for relaxation and informal gatherings. A tree-lined entrance will lead to a central amenity building equipped with collaborative workspaces, study areas, a fitness center, gaming rooms, and social spaces.
To foster a cohesive academic community, MSOM students are expected to reside on campus for their first two years. However, we offer flexibility with exemptions and waivers to accommodate individual needs. For more information, please visit: Housing and Meals.
Construction started in early 2024, and the Meritus Commons is scheduled to open just in time for the start of our inaugural MSOM class in Fall 2025. We look forward to welcoming you to your new home away from home!
