Office of the Registrar

Office of the Registrar

MSOM’s Office of the Registrar serves as the official steward of student academic records and enrollment information throughout the continuum of osteopathic medical education. The office is responsible for maintaining the accuracy, integrity, confidentiality, and security of all student records in compliance with institutional policies, accreditation standards, and applicable regulatory requirements. As the institution’s primary source for academic and enrollment information, the Office of the Registrar supports prospective and current student doctors, faculty, staff, and the community through consistent records management and responsive service.

  • The Office of the Registrar provides comprehensive records and enrollment services, including but not limited to:

    • Maintenance of official student academic records
    • Course registration and enrollment management
    • Monitoring and documentation of academic standing, progression, promotion, and graduation eligibility
    • Transcript processing and degree verification
    • Enrollment certifications and academic status verification
    • Guidance and training for faculty and staff regarding student privacy ad records access
    • Oversight of institutional compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)

  • It is this institution’s intent to carefully follow the rules applicable under the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). It is our intent to protect the privacy of a student’s financial, academic, and other school records. We will not release such information to any individual without having first received the student’s written request to do so, or unless otherwise required by law.

The full FERPA policy is available on the U.S. Department of Education website at https://studentprivacy.ed.gov/ferpa

Any complaints regarding MSOM’s compliance with FERPA may be directed to the Office of the Registrar or may file a complaint in writing to the Family Policy Compliance Office, at the following address:

  • According to FERPA, directory information is information contained in the education records of a student that would not generally be considered harmful or an invasion of privacy if disclosed. Typically, directory information includes information such as name, address, telephone listing, date and place of birth, participation in officially recognized activities and sports, and dates of attendance. MSOM will only be using the name and student email as directory information.

A school may disclose directory information to third parties without consent if it has given public notice of the types of information which it has designated as directory information, the parent's or eligible student's right to restrict the disclosure of such information, and the period of time within which a parent or eligible student has to notify the school in writing that he or she does not want any or all of those types of information designated as directory information.

  • The MSOM 2025-2026 Academic Catalog and Student Handbook provides a comprehensive overview of the academic programs, curriculum structure, institutional policies, and student support resources at the Meritus School of Osteopathic Medicine. It serves as a central reference for students throughout their medical education, outlining expectations for academic performance, professional conduct, and community standards. Students are encouraged to consult the handbook regularly and direct any questions to the Office of Student Affairs.

  • Upon graduation, students are provided two official transcripts at no charge. Those may be requested by submitting the Transcript Request Form and are then processed within the Registrar’s Office. Additional official transcripts are available for a $10.00 fee per transcript. These are recommended to be requested through Parchment.com.
