Student Organizations and Clubs

Student organizations are a vital part of the MSOM experience, offering opportunities for leadership, service, advocacy, professional growth, peer and scholarly engagement, wellness, and community building. MSOM supports organizations that align with its mission, values, and educational goals.

  • The MSOM Student Government Association (SGA) is the official representative body for the student population. It advocates for student interests, promotes engagement, and coordinates student organization activities in partnership with the Office of Student Affairs. SGA also leads institutional and class-wide initiatives and serves as a key communication link between students, faculty, administration, and leadership. SGA fosters leadership, professionalism, collaboration, advocacy, and a strong sense of community within MSOM.

  • The MSOM Student Osteopathic Medical Association (SOMA) chapter exists to advance osteopathic ideals, prepare student physicians for advocacy and leadership, and strengthen the osteopathic community. As the official AOA-affiliated student organization, SOMA connects MSOM students to the nation’s largest network of osteopathic medical students, amplifying our collective voice in shaping the future of the profession. This chapter plays a foundational role in building student culture, fostering professional identity, and creating pipelines to national leadership, community service, and policy engagement.

  • The MSOM American College of Osteopathic Surgeons - Medical Student Section (ACOS-MSS) Chapter is committed to fostering interest in surgery, promoting osteopathic principles in surgical practice, and creating opportunities for students to explore surgical careers in a supportive and collaborative way. ACOS-MSS provides resources, connections, and builds networks with other chapters at DO schools, facilitating physician mentorship among future osteopathic surgeons.
